This is a unique and genuine 1983-P Jefferson Nickel from the Philadelphia mint featuring a significant "struck through grease" error. This error occurred when the obverse die's recesses became clogged with debris, preventing the design from being fully imparted onto the coin.
As a result, a large portion of Jefferson's bust, including his neck and parts of his jacket, is either completely missing or extremely weak.
