ClaroRead assistive ( FOR MAC ONLY) software for the workplace and studies has been developed to provide help with reading and writing. The software reads any on-screen text as well as scanned books or documents and allows you to listen instead of struggling along. Using high-quality human-sounding speech, the programme reads aloud Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer emails and scanned OCR documents. Text is highlighted so you can follow as it is read out and you can choose highlighting by word, sentence or colour and lots of combinations so you can get the right workflow. For writing, the word prediction feature suggests words as you type which is great to help with spelling. You can listen back to the text you have written to help identify and correct any mistakes. The speaking spellcheck feature allows you to select a word you want to check and provides alternatives out loud.
