Barney and Berry Aged Leather and Metal Ice Skates. Primitive, Rustic Skate Decor.
These adorable Barney and Berry children's ice skates are in very nice shape given their age. They have a worn and rusty patina. The leather is mostly all intact except for a small piece that is broken off of the strap.
What makes these skates so very special is their age, manufacturer and that they are children's. It is rare to come across antique children's skates especially with the leather intact.
The runners are size 8 1/2.
They are 10" in length
Approx 2" across on the footplate.
Clamp style in the front leather at the heel of the skate.
Circa late 1800 or very early 1900
When I pick these skates up to look at them I can not help but say....aww these skates are so cute.
