A beautiful three footed, lidded, Czech Bohemian crystal candy dish. Hand blown ruby red glass decorated with exquisitely etched designs featuring a stag, a castle landscape, and a bird on among Egermann's characteristic baroque patterns.
Dating back to the early 1800's, the Egermann Company specializes in hand decorated glass. Their main claim to fame is the invention in 1832 of a process called "red staining" in where the dark ruby red coloring on each piece's surface is decorated by baroque patterns using cutting and engraving processes.
Excellent condition. No chips or cracks. There are a few pin-prick sized dots of paint loss and a very small scratch between the bird and and the castle.
