VINTAGE Uncle Sam Battleship Glass Candy Dish - EAPG E.C. Flaccus USS Maine.
Antique 1898 "Uncle Sam on Battleship" Covered Dish. Produced during the height of the Spanish-American War, this patriotic piece was manufactured by the E.C. Flaccus Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. It was originally used as a retail container for mustard or candy and served as a commemorative tribute to the USS Maine ("Remember the Maine").
Design & Detail:
●The lid features a highly detailed figure of Uncle Sam in his iconic top hat, seated between two smokestacks and naval vents. The base is expertly molded to resemble a battleship hull with portholes and an American shield on the bow.
